Review:
I recently purchased the BLACK+DECKER dustbuster AdvancedClean Cordless Handheld Vacuum and I must say, it’s been a game changer in my cleaning routine. As a busy mom with three young kids, I needed a vacuum that could quickly and efficiently clean up messes without any hassle. This handheld vacuum has exceeded my expectations.
The suction power is impressive, easily picking up hair, dirt, and debris from various surfaces including carpets, furniture, and high-traffic areas. The rotating slim nozzle is a great feature, allowing me to reach tight spaces from different angles.
One of the standout features of this vacuum is the pull-out crevice tool which makes accessing hard-to-reach areas a breeze. I was able to clean between couch cushions and on top of shelves effortlessly. The flip-up brush also adds an extra layer of versatility for dusting and vacuuming upholstery.
Another notable feature is the cyclonic action design, which spins dust and debris away from the filter, ensuring consistent and strong suction power. The easy-view dirt bowl is convenient, as it can be emptied easily without having to touch the dirt. The washable dirt bowl and filter are a great addition, allowing for easy cleaning in the sink.
The cordless design powered by a lithium-ion battery makes this handheld vacuum perfect for larger cleaning jobs that require quick cleanup. I appreciate the lightweight and portable nature of this vacuum, as it is easy to carry and maneuver even in tight spaces.
After reading some user feedback, I was initially concerned about the durability of the product. However, I have been using this vacuum for several months now and haven’t encountered any issues. The build quality feels sturdy, and the suction power has remained consistent.
Overall, I highly recommend the BLACK+DECKER dustbuster AdvancedClean Cordless Handheld Vacuum. It offers convenience, versatility, and powerful cleaning performance. Whether you have kids, pets, or simply need a reliable handheld vacuum for quick cleanups, this product is worth considering.

This works great for a quick cleanup and I don’t know why I didn’t get something like this sooner. The suction is great and I don’t find it to loud. It’s about as loud as a regular vacuum and for the quick use it’s not too bad. I love that you can plunk it down on the charging base and just leave it there charging continuously. It says in the manual that it won’t hurt the battery. It did say that there was supposed to be a wall mount included but mine didn’t come with that.
Cons – I would rather have detachable tools. The slide out tool it comes with works great and is an asset but it’s supposed to lock when you pull it out but mine doesn’t stay locked. As soon as I use it with a bit of pressure, it slides back in so I have to hold it so that I can use it. I do wish it the charge would last a bit longer. I tried using it to clean my window sills and I didn’t get them all done.
I bought this for my bedroom/studio where I do my art and music. I keep it relatively clean in here because of my equipment and needed something to just keep up with the cleaning rather than waiting until the room was a dusty, crumb filled mess. Easy jobs to handle for this.
It has a strong suction. Fairly louder than expected but it’s powerful for sure. I would say it’s overkill but my job has a similar one to this that says it’s good for “dust and hair” and this one easily out performs it. Even with the room being somewhat clean, this gets everything. In that, it’s filled quickly and I can see it clogging the filer after a few days use.
It comes with it’s own filter which it says needs to be replaced between 6 to 9 months. You may as well find them ahead of time and be ready since they do fill fast. You can probably extend that but emptying them out and shaking the dust loose from them. (with mask on of course, egth.) Holding the filter is what they call a “reuseable” plastic filter. Though I wouldn’t rely on that. It’s washable but its mostly a sort of mesh that dust passes through and not as effective as the actual filters. I’m hoping to get a long life out of this so as they say, take care of it and it’ll take care of you. Knock on wood.
While it doesn’t come with extensions, it has a head that ‘flips’ over the vacuum head to help knock dust loose and assist with jobs where putting that inch between the head and the surface you’re vacuuming doesn’t make the vacuum suck and get stuck on it. (Like sheets or light rugs, etc) It also has a built in extension that can be pulled out from the vacuum to give a slightly longer reach. Slightly. But you’ll be using it most of the time to be sure. I don’t know if they sell attachments but for now, this was all I needed.
For battery life, I think it may vary for some. And this is where I knock it back a point because for me, it dies before I feel like I would know. Granted, some people probably turn it off and on for spot cleaning and maybe that’s ideal. Given how strong it is, I can’t be surprised. You’ll need to charge it out of the box. It sits upright upon a round charge deck. A blue light will come on to let you know it’s charging and it’s done once the light turns off. Definitely do this when you first get it to get the most out of it. (Or anything that needs to be charged, really)
For me, this was what I needed it for and it does a great job. Highly recommended for simple jobs and upkeep if you’re striving to keep up with cleaning rather than waiting for your space to turn into a hellscape. For big heavy duty stuff, you’re going to want to invest in something bigger that can hold more. It’s strong enough to take on bigger jobs but I wouldn’t put it all on one small dust buster.
So I have sineco s3, multiple types of vacuum, furniture steamers, 2 robots vacuum/mop etc Point is, I get excited when I find something that makes mom life that much easier! With 3 young kids, there’s crumbs all over the floors and this hand vacuum was a godsend!! Within seconds, messes are cleaned up. About 5 months in, the motor started grinding. We checked for obstructions, nothing. We cleaned the dirty parts thoroughly and it didn’t help. The grinding sound was loud and it smells burnt. My husband and I tossed the vacuum out because we didn’t want to risk a fire. After not having this hand held vacuum for a week or so, we both missed it so much so my husband ended up ordering another one. We would appreciate it if the vacuum didn’t break so soon. Only had it for 6 months but the grinding sound/smell started around 5 months in. If the company can fix this issue, that would be great because we truly love this vacuum. I can probably run it for I think 7ish mins or so I’m not really sure, so it’s for quick jobs. It’s long enough for me to get all the crumbs throughout the first floor of my house though! It does suck up things very quickly. Love it! So please fix this issue. I hope my 2nd purchase will not break on me so soon. I do want another one for my upstairs but I don’t want to pay for a 3rd vacuum if it doesn’t have a long life span
Seems like a good product so far have had it less than a month. We shall see
I bought my new car in mid Aug and didn’t vacuum it until today, one day after I received the vacuum and got it fully charged, so imagine how much debris there was in my car every where. So the first job for this vacuum was not an easy one, especially this is pick up job from carpet type of surface. I would say it got my car about 80% clean, and I need to do a 2nd touch tomorrow after it gets recharged. I guess a Dyson can do 100%, but considering this is a $40 deal, I have no rights to complain. My home is all hard floor, I sweeper and mop it, and now with this black-decker to pick up small things from corners, this is perfect for a clean freak like me. I am glad the torture of driving in a messy car is finally over. Don’t ask why I didn’t buy a vacuum earlier.
This device is also light, compared to an old model I used a few years back.
I just bought this as a replacement for the same model I’ve had for about 10 years. The old vac battery doesn’t hold power for more than a minute or so, although you can keep switching it on and off to get a couple seconds of more juice. Since the first one I bought has lasted so long, it was a no-brainer to buy it again. My only fear is that over the years, as happens with many manufacturers, they start using cheaper parts and so the old items are better than the newer ones. I hope this is not the case this time. Love that I don’t have to mount it on a wall and it can just sit tucked away out of sight in a corner behind some furniture. Cleaning it is a breeze, and in the decade or so with the older vacuum I never had to replace the filter – just carefully brushed out the debris with a toothbrush and then gently washed it. I didn’t use soap for fear soap residue might clog the “cloth” filter. I would highly recommend this vac, assuming it lasts as long as the original.
Update: original review still stands for the most part. Still loud. Still decent suction. Noticeable drop in suction and noise when it’s about to run out of power.
New gripe/con: the crevice tool isn’t great. It’s nice to have something on board and extend, but any pressure on the tip causes it to retract cause there is no decent locking mechanism to really hold it in place. The plastic piece that just sticks up slightly isn’t enough to hold it off even a little pressure is put on the end.
Original review:
Wanted a hand vac for convenience on small messes. Bought due to lots of high reviews and purchases.
TL;Dr
Good value vac for quick cleanups. A little heavy and loud, but decent suction and battery life. Built rotating spout and built in extendable crevice is useful.
Here are my thoughts for the first two days.
Pros (so far):
Good build quality and feels sturdy.
Good suction. You can’t really expect full size vacuum suction from this form factor. Power to size ratio, is good enough.
Built in crevice tool and brush. Extends and can even rotate to get into more narrow areas.
Supposedly (hasn’t run out on me yet) 10 to 20 min runtime on a 4 hour charge. Light indicator shuts off when full.
Charging stand so just drop it on without trying to plug in a cable.
Fairly easy to clean and wash.
Decently large and wide spout captures larger debris without clogging.
Cons (so far):
It’s large and heavy. 2.6lbs doesn’t seem heavy on paper.. but after using it a while, it’s heavy, likely cause it’s design means you are lifting the battery highest when holding it. Also, larger than what I expected, but this is only my own opinion.
It’s loud. I didn’t check the decibel rating. But it’s hairdryer loud, made worse by the high pitch of the sound.
Filters need to be replaced. Though they say it’s washable, they also say it needs to be replaced every 6-9 months. Seems they retail here for roughly $9 each.
Unit sitting on charging stand is unstable and easily knocked over. Large size means it’s kind if hard to find a place to put it.
Manual says there is a wall mount, but nothing in the box. So I’m not sure if it’s missing or the manual is shared and for a different unit. Not sure.
Will likely update after some longer use if necessary.
