I had another brand that I used and it broke twice. This one seems a bit more sturdy. I like that the temp notes on what is rare, medium, and well is printed on the device itself. Only reasons I did not give it 5 stars was I am not sure how it will hold up over time and I found a very similar device in a multi grilling pack of meat probes and themometers for only slightly more money.
Lighted display if you are using it at night at the grill. Very handy. It has a hold feature that keeps the temperature reading on the display when you remove it from the food. Should have bought one of these years ago.
I should have bought this thing years ago. The ratings on here are legit. If you drop it in ice water, it goes to 32 degrees in seconds. That’s how I know its accurate. Its also saved me in some longer cooks I was doing with another probe that was very inaccurate. I smoked a turkey on thanksgiving and my turkey came out wonderful. Using this along with my other grill probes I feel like I’m in great shape but this thing is really accurate for the price. I also like how you just flip out the probe and it turns on so its very easy to use and read.
I bought it as a gift for my son and he tells me it works great. He has used it several times and finds it accurate and easy to read, and loves that he can wash it in the sink!! He also likes that it folds nicely to fit in the drawer.
I am very pleased with this purchase. The product arrived on time and without blemish. I smoked a turkey for Thanksgiving and used this to check the turkey. I love that the unit starts up when the needle is unfolded and shuts off when folded. It is easy to handle, has a quick temp guide on the handle, and the needle is long enough to keep my hand from getting too close to the meat. It provided immediate temps as I checked breast and leg meats. I’m looking forward to further use. Oh, and the turkey turned out spendoriferous!

We like to make our own thanksgiving meal either before or after the actual day. This worked out so well. Our bird was cooked to exactly the right temp and it was extremely juicy too. The display is easy to read and the temperature is displayed pretty quickly. The display turns off when the metal thermometer is closed towards the display handle. Comes with an extra button battery as well.
