Pros:
- Easy to install
- Effective in filtering water
- Compatible with select GE french-door refrigerators
- Certified to reduce lead, sulfur, and 50+ other impurities
- No tools or water-turnoff required for filter replacement
Cons:
- Pricey compared to off-brand alternatives
- Requires replacement every 6 months, regardless of usage
- Some users reported issues with non-GE brand filters
Overall, the GE RPWFE Refrigerator Water Filter is a great product for those looking to improve the quality of their water. It is easy to install and performs well in removing lead, sulfur, and various impurities. The compatibility with select GE french-door refrigerators is an added advantage for GE appliance owners. However, the price is a bit high compared to off-brand alternatives, and the mandatory replacement every six months may not suit everyone’s usage patterns. Additionally, there have been some reports of non-GE brand filters not fitting properly. Despite these minor drawbacks, the filter is highly recommended for its effectiveness and convenience.

We have some problems with our water, and this works very well. Only complaint, we have a 5 gal. water delivery system, so mainly use the frig for ice. It has a built in timer and you have to replace every 6 months, no matter how much you use it. But, as I said it does a great job and I think that feature may be from the frig manufacturer, not this product
You have to buy the GE Brand filter but it it relatively easy to install. Needs to be replaced every 6 months.
The product is expensive, but don’t try off-brand cheaper versions. These would not install ….??
Bite the bullet, you have no real choice as far as I have seen.
This situation is like buying a computer printer that seems to be cheap, but the ink is expensive.

This filter is easy to install and works great. Will
Continue to purchase.
Flows really well. Fits in the fridge perfectly and is super easy to install! Taste is great too!
This is a great water filter, easy to install and works the whole 6 months . Good price as well. I would definitely recommend.
They work
Works just like the OG ! Great deal !
Fits and functions as it should. GE brand ensures the device will accurately measure the water used and indicate when itβs time for replacement. Similar pricing to my local appliance store, which means it is over priced, so I am deducting one star in my rating.
This is the 3rd or 4th replacement filter that I have purchased (lots of thirsty folks here). These filters do an amazing job and are easy to replace thanks to GE.
Slightly better price than direct from manufacturer. Acted on the better idea to purchase this from a trustworthy retailer via Amazon rather than some online, less expensive offer and receiving a nonfunctional filter. Lesson learned (and, luckily, payment recouped), but truthfully, in the first place, refrigerator water filters are way overpriced.
