      Pros:

      • Powerful suction for removing tough pet spots and stains from various surfaces
      • Comes with exclusive specialty tools for more efficient cleaning
      • Portable and versatile design, lightweight and easy to use
      • Large tank capacity, allows for more cleaning before refills
      • Removes stains and odors effectively with Spot & Stain formula

      Cons:

      • Not as effective on older carpet stains
      • Not ideal for cleaning upholstery
      • Small size requires frequent refills for larger areas
      • No seal on the water tank, leading to spills during refilling
      • Expensive returning option and additional parts may be needed for usage

I recently purchased the BISSELL Little Green Multi-Purpose Portable Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner and I must say I am very impressed with its performance.

The powerful suction of this machine easily removes tough pet spots and stains from various surfaces including carpets, upholstery, and even car interiors. The exclusive specialty tools included with the model 1400B, such as the HydroRinse Self-Cleaning Hose Tool and Spraying Crevice Tool, make cleaning even more efficient and effective.

What I love about this cleaner is its portability and versatility. It is lightweight and easy to maneuver, allowing me to clean multiple surfaces throughout my home with ease. The large tank capacity of 48 oz. also means that I can clean more before needing to refill.

Using the included Spot & Stain formula with Febreze Freshness, this cleaner effectively removes stains and odors. I have used it to tackle tough stains like coffee, wine, and grease, and it has not failed to impress me.

However, I did find that this machine is not as effective on older carpet stains. While it did lift some of the stain, it couldn’t completely remove it. Additionally, when using it on upholstery, I felt it didn’t suck up enough water and required careful scrubbing to avoid water lines.

Overall, I highly recommend the BISSELL Little Green Multi-Purpose Portable Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner. It is a lifesaver for carpet owners like me and provides efficient and effective cleaning. Just be aware of its limitations when it comes to older stains and upholstery cleaning.

      1. I used this for my car seats. I will note that they hadn’t been ‘properly’ shampooed in a while. This definitely got out the stains and was very effective. I used it with the recommended oxy cleaner. However, because of the small size, I had to refill it after every seat for the water to be running clear. On the water tank side, it doesn’t have a seal or anything to stop the water when you attach it so some will spill every time you refill. Similar with the other side. The first time I used it I ended up spilling all of the dirty water because of that so be careful until you get used to it. Overall, it’s a great tool! Definitely better for spot treatments, small areas, or maintenance. If you’re looking for a deep cleaning or doing large areas (anything that would require more water), I would recommend getting something with a larger tank so you don’t have to keep refilling it.

      2. As always Bissell doesn’t disappoint. I had a spot that got worse by trying to clean myself. White couch. Littlegreen is lightweight, easy to set up in minutes.
        Directions are straightforward.
Perfect for spot cleaning spills on furniture and rug.
        Totally satisfied. Love my Bissell.

      3. This machine is great to use on new carpet and rug stains, it’s very simple to use, and it works well. My son spilled some Ovaltine milk on the carpet and this started it up in the first try. Very minimal scrubbing involved, and again really easy to use. The self-cleaning factor is great as well because that made cleaning the machine simple.
This doesn’t work too well on older carpet stains, so if you’re purchasing this for purpose of trying to clean up old stains that have been there for a while, I may reconsider. It definitely lifted some of the stain, but not all of it. Also, I did use these on our microsuede couches, and I wouldn’t really recommend it for cleaning upholstery. Kind of unfortunate because that is the major reason I bought this machine. It works OK but I feel like it doesn’t suck up nearly enough water on the couches and you have to be very conscious of your scrubbing and water usage to avoid water lines in the couch

      4. Fun to use, I want to go through and power clean everything now. Simple and easy to use and clean when finished. Effective. Small, and easy to store. The detergent smells good and does not leave a film or residue.

      5. Worst delivery information, worst product description, worst client service. Expensive returning option. Impossible to use the product, and after buying, you have to continue to spend money for other parts in order to use it

      7. This is a lifesaving machine for carpet owners. I recently moved into a house that was built in the 90’s. There is a lot of carpet inside that I think was original with the house. The cool thing is that the carpet was in IMMACULATE condition. Most carpet I’ve seen looks worse after one year than this carpet looks after 26 years. So, you can imagine how upset I was that 3 months after moving in I spilled an entire cup of strong, thick, black coffee right in the dining room area.

I immediately tried blotting it up with paper towel. That left the carpet a bit drier, but incredibly stained! Fortunately (at least I thought I was fortunate), I had several carpet cleaning products on hand. I used them all to no avail. There was literally no difference (the first photo I uploaded is after cleaning it with several products) after spending more than 2 hours cleaning this darn spot. I thought that there must be something else I can try before giving, and that is when I found this Little Green Machine.

Setting this up was incredibly easy. The instructions were simple (about 5 steps) and easy to follow. There is a grand total of one screw that needs to be fastened, so make sure you have a small Phillips head available. Next, you must fill the tank with a mixture of water and cleaning solution. The tank includes a handy line to easily visualize the amount of solution you are adding without the need for other measuring equipment. The instructions advise you to top the tank off with hot tap water (do no use boiling water) and the machine is ready to go. In the case of an emergency, this could be set up in ready to go in 2 minutes or less.

To clean, you simply plug the machine into the nearest power outlet, spray the stain using the trigger on the cleaning head, let the solution “set” for a few minutes, the scrub/vacuum the moisture up. The suction seems quite powerful and does a good job of removing a significant amount of the solution you sprayed the carpet with; it doesn’t get ALL of the moisture, though, but the area is typically dry by morning.

Most people writing the reviews on this machine have used it on pet stains, and it would seem they are happy with the result. How did it fare against my coffee stain? Pretty darn well! The before and after picture will give you the best idea of how it did, but I can say I am happy with the way my carpet looks again. I can still see the stain, simply because I know exactly where it is, but I had guests over the other night that can pick it out…this provides a relief that I cannot express in words.

This product does exactly what it states, so I really have to grasp at straws to try and find something they could improve. Maybe the suction hose could be a bit longer, or the solution tank could be heated. None of these “issues” are pressing though.

A couple of tips for the new user; make sure you let the solution “set” in the stain you are trying to remove. The instruction guide suggests allowing the stain to soak for 5 or 6 minutes before sucking it up. Suck up the solution from all angles to get the best results, and don’t be afraid to clean the spot a few times. The coffee stain you see in the photos required me to clean the area twice over the weekend to get the level of stain removal I was seeking.

TLDR: Buy this machine. It works great, you will be impressed!

      8. The media could not be loaded.

First let me say I don’t normally take time to write reviews but I just had to share my story because I’m still giddy about how well this machine worked.
I recently purchased a beautiful cream, designer chair at a furniture consignment shop and the lighting must have been bad in the store because I didn’t notice at all that it was quite dirty. I was just so excited that it was exactly what I had been looking for – color, size, style and price!
When I got it home it was perfect in every way EXCEPT the off-white that was so perfect in the fluorescent lighting was a dingy EWWW in the natural light of our living room. I took the armrest covers off and YUCK! I noticed how dirty the arms were and then noticed that I hadn’t looked that closely on the store – there were spots all over the chair!
The store doesn’t take returns AND I loved everything about the chair except the grime and spots (how did I not notice those in the store???) so I googled best upholstery cleaner and the BISSELL Little Green Machine showed up as top-rated in multiple blogs so I searched for it on Amazon. It had awesome reviews confirming what the blogs has said so I ordered it.
It came super-fast and was easy to set up. I got to work. Well, my sweet husband got to work. My plan was to have him handle the task as he’s usually in charge of the grimy stuff. Love that man. 😊🙏
Well I had no idea cleaning upholstery could be so fun! This little machine sucked the grime right out! It was really satisfying to see it get sucked out right before my eyes. Before my husband knew it, he was free to watch his baseball game because I had taken over.
When I was finished the cream chair looked like new!
        And I didn’t stop there.
I had a 14-year old blue chair in my home office that had weathered two babies, lots of journaling and phone conversations with my feet tucked up underneath me, latte spills and just…a full life! Our whole family loves mommy’s blue chair as it’s where good conversations and snuggles have happened my kids’ entire lives. When we recently remodeled our home I was looking for a new chair for myself. My whole family protested because they loved it so much. It bummed me out because – well LOOK at the “before” photos of the blue chair I posted. Our whole house was clean and fresh from the much-needed after 17 years in the house remodel. Having to look at that chair, as much as I loved the memories of it, grossed me out.
So when I finished the cream chair I thought, I’m going to see what the BISSELL Little Green Machine could do for the blue chair. I figured, worst case scenario it would make it worse and then I’d HAVE to get my new chair. 😀
I honestly didn’t think it would make a difference. I had actually had a professional rug + upholstery cleaner look at it and say he couldn’t do anything to make it look better just two months ago during the remodel. So despite seeing the INCREDIBLE results on the cream chair, my expectations were low. Additionally, this was an inexpensive chair with a sueded microfiber fabric – not nearly as well made as the cream chair so I wasn’t sure if the not super-sturdy fabric would withstand the cleaning fluid or brush.
I was blown away. As you can see by the Before and After photos – the BISSELL mighty little machine did an amazing job!!! The blue chair is saved and we are ALL excited. Yes, even me. 😃 I just wish I would have taken videos of cleaning the blue chair – the water was SO dirty. GROSS!
Again though, it was SO satisfying throughout the process to see the dirt come out and have brand new chairs.
This machine is WELL worth the very reasonable price and I also absolutely love being able to restore two chairs rather than buy new ones. Less landfill and consumerism to help the planet. And the pocketbook!!!
A little technique scoop (if you’re still reading) – on the cream chair we sprayed the cleaning water from the machine on the area, then sprayed Resolve and let it sit for a minute or two before we sucked up the dirt. The Resolve did make the dirty water in the tank pretty foamy and I’m not sure if it could damage the machine or the chair but when we tried it we were kind of thinking we didn’t have anything to lose as the fabric was so grungy when we got it home to natural light, we would not have kept the chair if the BISSELL didn’t work. The machine seems totally fine and of course the chair is now clean and beautiful!
I could not possibly love this little machine more and now I can feel much more confident with all of our new carpet and furniture because if we get a spill or a stain this lightly little green machine will take care of it!
I highly recommend the BISSELL Little Green Machine!
