My Review of the iRobot Roomba 694 Robot Vacuum
Effortless Cleaning
I have been wanting an automatic vacuum for quite some time, and the Roomba 694 has surpassed my expectations. I can easily schedule it to clean daily with the iRobot HOME app or through my voice assistant, making cleaning effortless.
Effective Cleaning Performance
The 3 Stage Cleaning system and Dual Multi-Surface brushes do a great job of picking up dirt from both carpets and hard floors. The Edge-Sweeping brush takes care of corners and edges. The Roomba also has dirt detect sensors that alert it to dirty areas and ensures a more thorough cleaning.
Smart Navigation
The Roomba’s adaptive navigation system, equipped with advanced sensors, allows it to navigate around furniture and along edges without any issues. It even has Cliff Detect to prevent it from falling down stairs.
Personalized Cleaning Experience
The Roomba 694 learns your cleaning habits and offers personalized schedules. It can also be controlled using voice commands with Google Assistant or Alexa, further enhancing convenience.
Pet-Friendly and Excellent Performance
As a pet owner, I was impressed with how well the Roomba 694 handles pet hair. It kept up with the constant shedding in my home, leaving my floors clean and fur-free. It works equally well on carpets and hard floors, providing great performance overall.
Easy to Use and Maintain
The Roomba 694 is easy to operate and maintain. The app allows me to schedule cleanings and monitor its progress. Emptying the dirt bin is a breeze, although for those who prefer less frequent emptying, I would recommend the self-emptying model.
Room for Improvement
The only downside I’ve encountered so far is that the Roomba’s cleaning pattern can be a bit sporadic. It sometimes moves from one area to another without fully finishing one spot. Additionally, the brushes could be of slightly higher quality, as they tend to get tangled with hair and require frequent cleaning or replacement.
Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase of the iRobot Roomba 694. It saves me time and effort while maintaining a clean home. The vacuum’s performance, combined with its smart features and pet-friendly design, make it a valuable addition to any household.

WOW !! Love it !! Great cleaning of our hardwood floors and carpet. Lasted longer than 90 min. charge. Best buy of the Holidays and very inexpensive. Easy to empty. Fairly quiet , as well.

I had seen some other Vacuum (Robots) on sale on black Friday, but decided to go with the best. It’s not got all the advanced features the others (much more expensive) have, but this does the job for me.
Replacement parts are freely available on Amazon at very affordable prices, the battery lasts as long as they advertise, I’m happy with the suction the motor provides for hard wood floors as well as carpets. It goes on and off the carpets on my hard wood floor without any problem and I’m still to play around with some of the features through the app but prima facie this is a great value for money product and I highly recommend it!
I really like this roomba but don’t expect miracles. you still have to clean up your floor so it doesn’t get tangled with cords, socks, strings, craft materials and anything that is cloth.
My only issue is the brushes! I fell in love with robot vacuums but I just wish the brushes were made slightly more high quality. I do not have a problem otherwise. It runs great and sucks great. It collects significantly more junk than my previous coredy one which was just a giant hole no brushes. I do believe the name brand does make a difference.
But – be prepared to get replacement Parts before Less than a year both my spinning brush, foam brush and bristle brush are absolutely destroyed. I understand maintenance but I hope in the future they are of slightly more higher quality than this. The rest of the vacuum is amazing! I love the scheduling app – I set mine up automatically M-F give it vacations on the weekend lol. I have a cat and it does wonders with kids, going around objects, toys, kids messes and cat hair.

I have been wanting an automatic vacuum for quite some time but was hesitant that it would actually clean good. I still have to learn how to use this and see if I can set boundaries with this model but straight out of the box and not even fully charged for my first use (I would recommend charging it the full 3 hrs. as suggested, I accidentally started it and let it go!) it did great. The photos are from running two days in a row and as you can see the dirt bin is full so it is definitely cleaning. I’m hoping I can program it better because right now it seems to be all over the place and it doesn’t fully get one area before moving on to the next and it misses some trash/dirt since it is sporadic. I will update on that after I’ve learned how to use it! I’m happy with this purchase as of now. If you don’t want to clean the bin every day or two I would recommend getting the self emptying model. I just wanted to try the basic vacuum for now and see if it was worth it. I am a professional cleaner and so I have high expectations and so far this has met my needs. It has some “sweeper legs” that get in corners or edges like under counters and sometimes it does miss stuff but I know it is working as I have to empty the dirt bin frequently. It’s making my life a little easier! We named ours Dusty! It is not too loud but if your on a phone call it’s best to go to another room as it can be a little distracting. I set mine to go off at 12 pm every day and like clock work Dusty comes out and goes to work!
The app was super easy to set up and like I said I am still learning and hope to set up specifics if I can with this model.
The only issue I have had so far is that it will get stuck on a couple of my rugs. They are thick rugs so one it just stops and the alarm goes off for an error that it could not move. The other rug it says it is near a cliff lol! It isn’t that high of a rug but it is higher than the hard wood floors I have. I just move it and press start. It is a little aggravating but nothing too bad. I’m home all the time so I can move it but if I wasn’t I’m not sure if I could do anything from the app (again, still learning!)
Also, make sure cords are picked up and if you have any sticky bug traps I’d move them because the little sweeper legs have gotten stuck to mine and I had to pull it off.
Other than those two things I am loving my automatic vacuum and I recommend it his product. If I remember I will update my review after I’ve had it for a while longer!
We have two white-haired dogs who shed hair constantly, creating ‘drifts’ around the house.
Pros:
Our floors are 90% wooden with some small carpeted areas and a little lino and the Roomba has no problems with any of them. It handles changes in levels between the older and newer sections of the house and deals with obstacles like chair legs and kids’ shoes very well. We’ve had no problems with it picking up any objects or cables yet, though it is advisable to clear the floor of anything small, like LEGO.
Cons:
It is a lot noisier than I expected. The Roomba is designed to work when you’re not in the house. It also takes a long time to return home if instructed – like 10+ minutes, but that might be a learning issue.
It’s early days, we’ve only had it for a few days, but it works as described.
Feel good
This is a very unique product. Having two huskies in the house , there is plenty of loose fur all over the floor. This vacuum seems to be keeping up with the task. Is this vacuum perfect? No. It will get stuck in the most random of places (under the dining room chair, between the area rug and the couch or against the sliding glass door). If you are looking for Rosie the Robot from the Jetsons, keep looking, however, if you can deal with a few quirks that this unit has, this is a great addition especially if you have a busy household and don’t have the ability to vacuum everyday (husky owners).
This vacuum does not work in a grid pattern, and the pattern it does work in seems to be pretty random, which means my dogs think that this thing is viciously chasing and attacking them every morning when it starts its routine. It takes an adjustment period to get used to how this operates, and how the furry family members in your home adjust to the whirling circle monster that seems to chase them from room to room.
For the sale price that I picked up this unit for I would certainly recommend.
It picks up a lot more stuff than I thought it would, it doesn’t map rooms so it’s movements are pretty sporadic and can’t get into the corners so I still need to sweep a bit. I find I have to dump it out about halfway through cleaning but it picks up a lot of stuff, for the amount I paid for it it works great.
I was amazed at how good this is at picking up fur. I mainly got it for under the bed. The cat sleeps under there and it is extremely hard to get to. There isn’t a lot of room between the legs of the bed. The vacuum will only fit in one spot but it finds it every time and does both sides. Every time I run it I have to empty it. It’s always full of cat hair and dry litter that gets tracked under there on their paws. Would highly recommend for any pet owner. Although if your pet sheds alot and you are using it for multiple rooms you have have to pause it and empty it during the cycle. The vacuum will also let you know if there is a problem. Mine once shut itself off because it got caught on a cat toy with a long ribbon.which is super useful since you can run it from your phone even when you’re not home.
