This automatic timer is good for the price and you get 2! The buttons on the timer are pretty plasticy but so far so good. I have a lizard and when I go out of town I put his lights on the outlet and it doesn’t disappoint. Instructions are easy to follow.
I like these little timers because they are easy to set up and use. I use them for cat pheromone plug ins so they only go for a chunk of time and they last so much longer that way. My cats are only super active and beating each other up at certain times a day so I only really need the plug ins to be on for hours here and there. It saves a lot of money in refills to not have them running all the time. Such a simple product to use as a money saver!
I have had two sets of these timers. It’s no brainer to set these timers up, it’s extremely Elementary. They go bad Within 8 months to a year… I had one take a nosedive on me about 11 months after I programmed it for my grow house. Since they’re mechanical they will wear out due to resistance. The outside dial rotates around the center little red indicator. In time the outside dial gets harder to turn around the inside indicator and it will lock completely up. I can’t say that a digital is better than a mechanical timer. I chose mechanical because I’m old school. I can touch it, feel it, and know NOW when to replace it. With a digital timer we can’t do that. I learned my lesson by not paying attention to how easy that outside dial rotates around the inside. I set it to come on at 6:00 a.m. and go off at 6:00 p.m now. One morning I woke up and my light did not come on, so I looked at my timer and realized that I couldn’t even turn the dial. It was not that crucial at the time but if it was a month later I would have ruined all my plants. I’m not bashing this timer! All things mechanical will wear. I have a spare one ready to go timed the same as the one that I have going right now. With these timers, I suggest that you use preventive maintenance. Every once in awhile unplug it and rotate that dial and make sure that it’s rotating very easily and that it’s not giving you any resistance. Note: when you turn it off and you rotated to see if it’s still easy to rotate around the inside ring. You will have to reprogram it. Very easy. When you do check it. If it is getting harder to rotate then when it came out of the box, it is time for you to throw that one away and use the new one that you have already programmed and ready to go. These timers are very reliable straight out of the box and for months on in. They’re very inexpensive and they work very well. So, I would highly recommend getting them. Safety in numbers. 2 is what you should have on hand. If one goes bad and you’re down to the one, order two more. I mean it’s like once a year that you’ll be ordering these depending on how you use them. I use mine everyday. At first I had it programmed to 18 hours on, 6 hours off. Then I had to go to 12 hours on, 12 hours off. I did notice that it was harder for me to rotate the outside ring but did not pay too much attention to it until it locked up. I learned my lesson! Just want to pass that lesson on to you. The plants I grow are worth thousands of dollars and if I can rely on these, I think you could too. Just remember to do some preventive maintenance! Please check to see how easy it is to rotate. Good luck, and I hope this helped?
I’ve used many of these kinds of timers in the past and they’re not very complicated, either they work or they don’t. I’ve only had mine going for a couple days so far, but seem to work just fine. Smaller than I though they’d be, which is nice because they’re not very noticeable. Outlet on front works fine with 2-prong or 3-prong cords.
Not precise, but work fine so far
I bought these on a prime day sale with the intent to use them to extend my ‘daylight’ hours in my chicken coops. I chose these instead of wi-fi style because we all know wi-fi can go down or be scattered the further away you are so a mechanical is perfect. Does the job so we’ll see if it last over the winter inside the coop (my concern is dust collecting and stopping the dial).
Bought prelit trees for indoors but needed timers to control the hours they were on.
These simple timers were a great price – 2 per pack, very easy to set up, and reliable.
Very happy with my purchase.
Small, easy to set but be warned that you need something small enough to push in and pull out to set, if you have large fingers. Extremely quiet
These little timers are great. They are small enough you can plug them in anywhere and they are easy to program. Great for just one thing you want on a timer.
Followed the instructions, buttons seemed to stick. Once I set switch to ON position, setting timer buttons was much easier. Just be sure to set to TIMER once you plug everything in. I went out of town for a week, both timers worked very well as set. Good quality for the price.
Great price compared to the box stores. Works well easy to set up and use.
Device is working as advertised. Make sure to have the correct adapters if applicable. Faulty adapter was causing issues with my timer. Swapped out my faulty adapter and product is working fine. One complaint, device components are on the cheap side.
