    ARZOPA Portable Monitor Review

    Design and Portability

The ARZOPA Portable Monitor impressed me with its sleek and lightweight design. It easily fits in my laptop bag, making it perfect for travel. The included smart cover adds an extra layer of protection, although I found it to be a bit flimsy.

    Visual Quality

The Full HD display of the ARZOPA Portable Monitor delivers stunning visuals. The 1080P resolution and IPS technology ensure crisp and vibrant images, which is great for both work and multimedia content. However, small text can appear slightly fuzzy.

    Ease of Use

Setting up the ARZOPA Portable Monitor was a breeze. It uses a single USB-C cable for both video signal and power, eliminating the need for additional drivers or apps. The plug-and-play feature worked flawlessly with my laptop.

    Connectivity and Compatibility

The dual USB-C ports and mini HDMI port provide versatile connectivity options. I was able to easily connect the monitor to my PC, Mac, phone, Xbox, and Switch. However, it does not function as a USB hub, so I couldn’t connect a wired mouse to control my devices.

    Pros:

    • Lightweight and portable design
    • Easy setup and plug-and-play
    • Good image quality with vibrant colors
    • Wide compatibility with various devices

    Cons:

    • No internal battery, relies on laptop or tablet power
    • Flimsy smart cover stand, requires alternative stand for stability
    • Requires a table or desk to use the monitor

    Conclusion

The ARZOPA Portable Monitor is a great addition to any portable workstation. Its sleek design, excellent visual quality, and easy setup make it a standout choice. While it has a few minor drawbacks like the lack of a built-in battery and the flimsy cover stand, its overall performance and portability make it a worthy investment.

    2. I actually bought 2 of these on the same day and one of them stopped working with the HDMI input. Type C works fine still on this broken one. So I used it for my phone – anything after Samsung 10 works well. The weird malfunction of the HDMI no longer working on one of these identical models was very disappointing and when I tries to go to the company website , there was nothing! Worked from June and then stopped in late August for no logical or apparent reason. Having got two of them I was able to try various permutations and swap cables etc but to no avail and it never worked again with HDMI. Weird and disappointing considering how content I am with the other one working fine. For a price of under 150 Euros worth getting. Keep an eye out for specials and get one then is the best idea maybe?

    3. Rating: ★★★★★

I recently purchased the ARZOPA 17″ screen, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations in every way. From its sleek design to its user-friendly features, this unit is a real gem.

      Design (5/5):
The design of the ARZOPA screen is not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional. It’s incredibly lightweight, making it easy to carry and set up wherever you need it. The slim profile adds a touch of sophistication to any workspace, and the build quality is impressive.

      User Interface (5/5):
Navigating the user interface is a breeze. The menu is easy to access, and you can effortlessly make adjustments to your preferred settings. Customizing your display has never been this straightforward, and it’s a real time-saver for productivity.

      Display Quality (5/5):
While the screen may appear a bit dull out of the box, this is easily remedied by making a few adjustments to suit your viewing preferences. Once you fine-tune the settings, the overall view is exceptional. Crisp visuals, vibrant colors, and sharp details make for an immersive experience, whether you’re working or enjoying multimedia content.

      Versatility (5/5):
I strongly recommend this product to anyone looking to expand their laptop or desktop real-estate. It’s perfect for multitasking, and the 17″ size provides that extra screen space you’ve always wanted. It’s a game-changer for professionals and enthusiasts alike.

      Bonus: Compatibility (5/5):
If you want to take your setup to the next level, the ARZOPA screen works seamlessly with a USBC hub and Samsung Dex Service. This combination is a whole new level of awesomeness, enhancing your productivity and versatility. It’s a dynamic duo that I can’t recommend enough.

In summary, the ARZOPA 17″ screen is an all-around winner. Its design, user-friendly interface, display quality, and compatibility make it a standout product in its category. If you’re looking to enhance your workspace, I wholeheartedly endorse this fantastic screen. It’s an investment in your productivity and enjoyment.

    4. UPDATE 11/04/2023:
After buying this monitor in April and using it HEAVILY – like, for 5+ hours every single day, carrying it with me everywhere from home to school to work – the monitor still works fantastic! I love this thing! It actually outlived the laptop I bought to use it with, lol (that laptop’s hinge eventually broke).

Given that my laptop died and this monitor didn’t, I actually used this monitor along with the Dex mode on my Samsung phone as the ONLY “computer” I had access to either at work or at home for a little over a month. That solution was good enough for me to at least complete some basic research during that time, as well as completely re-writing my resume to an entirely new format, so the monitor saved me a month of lost productivity!

My only recommendation is to buy a better high-end USB-C to USB-C cable if you plan to use this monitor extensively. I still use the USB-C cable included with this monitor to charge my phone – it’s powerful enough to activate my Samsung’s “Super Fast Charging Mode.” But I now prefer to use this cable (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Y874X96/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) to connect my monitor to my PC, as it’s a little thicker and less likely to be jostled.

Nonetheless, I can’t complain at all – my $1400 smartphone came with an even worse, and much shorter, USB-C cable, so I think 3rd-party USB cables are the way to go for all electronics now days.

      ORIGINAL REVIEW FOLLOWS:
I love this little monitor! It’s VERY light (lighter than my S23 Ultra!), and the case it comes in is cute, protective, feels good to hold (with a leather texture for better grip), and most importantly, does a good job holding up the screen when it’s in use in landscape mode. I’ve never had the screen fall down on its own. The case also comes off fairly easily if you want to do that intentionally (just push it to the side so the magnets lose their grip).

The screen is much thinner and lighter than I was expecting, which is great, because it’s so thin it actually fits right inside my laptop bag along with my laptop, as you can see in the second image I uploaded. On the left is my laptop, on the right is the monitor.

It’s actually basically the exact same size as my HP Envy 360 15.6″ screen, so it’s quick and easy to look back and forth between the monitors. All I need to unfold a complete workstation on the go is the included USB-C cable – that cable both powers the monitor and conveys the image signal. Importantly, however, do NOT lose this cable, as no other USB-C cable I own, even my nicer ones, seems to be able to replicate the trick of carrying the power and image simultaneously. I marked the cable with some orange duct tape so I don’t mistake it for my other USB-C to C cables.

What’s really cool is this monitor can actually work with my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, immediately putting the phone into Dex mode, allowing me to basically replicate a workstation experience entirely off of my phone! Make sure if you do this, however, to plug a USB-C power cable into the second USB-C port of the monitor, as this will actually then begin to send power to your phone, charging it; otherwise, I tested it with Ampere, and running the monitor unpowered from your phone increases my S23 Ultra’s power consumption from -320 mAh, meaning my phone should theoretically last for 15 hours on a full charge, to about 1000 mAh, meaning it would die in a little under 5 hours running the external monitor. When I connect my Samsung fast charger (which charges my S23 at a blistering 4,500-5,200 mAh) to the monitor when the monitor is plugged into my phone’s USB-C port, my phone charges at a very fast 2,400 mAh – not as good as my special-made fast charger, but actually much, much faster than most cheap store-brand chargers, which I was honestly not expecting! So that’s cool!

The sound on this monitor is louder than my phone, but quieter than my laptop; nonetheless, it’s not a portable speaker, if you care about audio get a Bluetooth speaker or headphones. The monitor is easily bright enough to read comfortably in a room where I’m getting direct sunlight, but I’m not sure how it would be trying to read it in, like, direct sunlight standing in a field or something unusual like that. (Then again, basically every electronic device I’ve owned, especially my Switch, has eaten dirt in that exact scenario).

When I first got the monitor, I actually messed with the color settings considerably, then eventually realized I’d actually made it worse and returned it to the defaults, which are fairly true!

I don’t think I’d want to use this monitor as a dedicated monitor for trying to, like, play a graphics-intensive first-person shooter or the like, but for casual gaming, video streaming, and my intended use, as an office computer, it’s great! With the addition of only a few extra ounces to my laptop bag, I now have a second monitor I can use to play Udemy videos fullscreen while I have an IDE or note-taking software open full screen on my laptop, which has increased my productivity considerably. And if I don’t need to run an IDE and think I’ll just be doing basic MS Office tasks for the day, I can ditch my laptop entirely and use the AZORPA monitor along with my Samsung Galaxy S23U and a bluetooth mouse + keyboard (or a 2.4ghz mouse/keyboard plugged into a USB hub) as my entire computer workstation!

All in all, I honestly never even knew portable monitors had gotten to be this good, this cheap. If I had, I’d have bought one earlier! I’m honestly considering getting a second, so I can go full 1980s Hackerman in a Starbucks with a triple-screen setup, lol.

All in all, very satisfied with my purchase, at least after 1 month of daily usage and carrying the screen around in a laptop bag!

    5. Great small monitor which is easily moved.
I have already used it for a variety of things! Display is good as long as its not really small text as there is some slight fuzz. The speakers are rather weak but would work in a pinch. The brighness is good and I have been able to use the monitor outside without it being too dark. The wheel button concerns me as it feels like it could get easily broken as there is no protection for it. Press up once to control brightness or press down once to control sound.

While it doesn’t have a built in battery I’d recommend getting a good portable charger if this is an issue as it uses very little power.

The 2 USB-C ports don’t act like a hub which meant I couldn’t connect a wired mouse to control my devices. (Although, this was expected as it didn’t mention anywhere that it could)

My phone has a desktop capability (Samsung DeX) which was really great to use with my bluetooth keyboard and mouse. I did notice that the power pass through wasn’t charging my phone quick enough to stop it from draining but the drain was about 5-10% an hour. I have tried this using a large anker power bank and also my usual phone charger.
It was a great second screen for work and was like a normal screen.
Currently I am using it for my nintendo switch in bed as the console has a small screen. I have this connected slightly differently as I needed to use the original nintendo cable with the dock because the one supplied was slightly wider and meant I couldn’t fit my 8bitdo usb next to it. I bought a cheap HDMI to Mini-HDMI converter which works perfectly and means I can use any of my HDMI cables now.

    6. I frequently travel and this monitor is perfect for having an additional monitor on the go. I had previously been using the “second screen” option on my Samsung Tab S7, but this monitor is larger.
      Pros:
      1. Lightweight and also fits nicely in my laptop bag.
      2. Easily connects to my laptop
      3. Good image quality
      4. Also works as a Dex screen for my tablet
      5. Comes with a cover.

      Cons:
      1. No internal battery, so it draws power directly from the laptop or tablet. Unless you connect a separate USB C power source to it. This shortened my battery life on both devices by about half.
      2. The cover stand is kind of flimsy and easy to knock down. If you’re using this in a more permanent set–up invest in a real tablet stand or other more secure stand.
      3. Have to have a table or desk to use the monitor. (Very minor con for me)

    7. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the Arzopa Portable Monitor, and it has truly exceeded my expectations in every aspect. This sleek and innovative device has become an essential part of my daily tech arsenal, and here’s why it deserves a solid 5-star rating.

The Arzopa Portable Monitor boasts a brilliant Full HD display that delivers crisp and vibrant visuals. Whether I’m working on detailed spreadsheets, editing photos, or enjoying multimedia content, the clarity and color accuracy of this monitor never fail to impress. The 15.6-inch screen provides ample real estate without compromising on portability.

      **2. Exceptional Portability: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐**

One of the standout features of the Arzopa Portable Monitor is its exceptional portability. Slim and lightweight, it effortlessly slips into my laptop bag, making it the perfect companion for professionals on the go. The inclusion of a protective smart cover not only adds an extra layer of durability but also doubles as a versatile stand, allowing for various viewing angles.

      **3. Plug-and-Play Convenience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐**

Setting up the Arzopa Portable Monitor is a breeze. With its USB-C and HDMI connectivity options, I can seamlessly connect it to my laptop, tablet, or even smartphone, instantly transforming my workspace. The plug-and-play functionality ensures that I can focus on my tasks without the hassle of complicated installations.

      **4. Touchscreen Magic: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐**

What truly sets the Arzopa Portable Monitor apart is its responsive touchscreen capability. Navigating through documents, web pages, and applications is a joy, thanks to the intuitive touch controls. This feature adds a new dimension to productivity and creativity, making it an ideal choice for professionals and digital artists alike.

      **5. Versatility in Connectivity: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐**

Arzopa understands the importance of versatility in today’s tech-driven world. This monitor supports a range of devices, making it a versatile solution for various needs. Whether you’re connecting it to a laptop, gaming console, or a compatible smartphone, the Arzopa Portable Monitor adapts seamlessly to your requirements.

In conclusion, the Arzopa Portable Monitor has left an indelible mark on me with its impressive display, unmatched portability, ease of use, touchscreen functionality, and versatile connectivity options. If you’re in the market for a portable monitor that excels in both form and function, the Arzopa Portable Monitor is a solid 5-star choice that delivers on its promise of excellence.

    8. I’ve used the screen on a Raspberry Pi 5, and also a Pi 4. The display is excellent. The sound isn’t too bad although I haven’t used it much other than to see if the speakers work.

The disappointment for me is the case. Looking at the pictures above the case should work as a stand but from my experience it just doesn’t work. No matter how you fold it the screen just slides down.

I’ve seen similar cases on other devices and they all have a piece attached to make a stand, this is just flat with a few grooves.

The only way I can stand the screen up is prop it against something – not ideal as an external screen as you have to carry a prop around as well.

    9. Easy setup, nice packaging. Works instantly and has all the needed cables. Reminder, this doesn’t not have a battery, so it powers from the USB C. My only complaint is the magnet for the cover is a little weak and the cover is very cheap feeling. Other than, this is a winner.
